How to Counter Mega Knight: Best Counters and Decks That Beat It
Mega Knight cannot hit air and loses to high single-target damage, so air troops, P.E.K.K.A-style damage and buildings that pull it are the reliable answers. In real ranked data, over the last 30 days of ranked battles, Mega Knight does worst against Ronin, Skeleton King and Goblin Curse.
TL;DR
- Never drop swarms on Mega Knight's landing spot: its jump clears them.
- Air troops and high single-target damage are the safest answers.
- In ranked data, over the last 30 days of ranked battles, Mega Knight does worst against Ronin, Skeleton King and Goblin Curse.

What counters Mega Knight best?
Mega Knight is a 7-elixir Legendary. It deals splash damage when it lands and every time it jumps onto a target, so swarms placed next to it die instantly. But it only hits ground troops, and it is slow to kill one big, high-damage defender.
Here are the cards Mega Knight does worst against in real ranked battles over the last 30 days:
| Card | Mega Knight win rate | Battles |
|---|---|---|
| Ronin | 38.7% | 7,014 |
| Skeleton King | 39.1% | 4,103 |
| Goblin Curse | 39.9% | 3,340 |
| Suspicious Bush | 41.6% | 2,868 |
| Night Witch | 42.9% | 8,078 |
| Elixir Golem | 43.1% | 4,286 |
The four reliable ways to stop Mega Knight
1. Use air troops
Mega Knight cannot attack air. Minions, Mega Minion or a Baby Dragon placed behind it deal damage it can never answer. Cheap air support is often the most elixir-efficient answer, as long as the opponent's spell cannot clear it.
2. Bring high single-target damage
P.E.K.K.A, Mini P.E.K.K.A and Inferno Tower deal huge damage to one target. Place them so Mega Knight walks into them after its landing jump, so it does not land on top of your defender with full splash.
3. Pull it with a building
A building in the centre pulls Mega Knight away from your tower and makes it walk across the arena, giving your tower and support time to shoot. This works best combined with air damage.
4. Bait the jump with something cheap
Mega Knight jumps onto the first target in range. Place one cheap troop a few tiles away to make it jump, then drop your real defence after the jump has landed. Skeletons or Ice Spirit can bait the jump for almost nothing.
Which mistakes make Mega Knight unstoppable?
- Dropping swarms right next to it. The landing and jump damage clear them instantly.
- Placing your tank on top of it. You take full splash. Let it come to you.
- Using your only anti-air on the support troops. Keep an air answer for the Mega Knight itself.
- Panicking with an expensive answer. Defend the 7-elixir Mega Knight with less than 7 and you win the trade.
